I have used Ghost in the past to create an image to deploy out to many computers. The version I used ran from a server and would pull an image from a computer. I would then use the server to push that image to numerous computers. It worked great.
I am now using Ghost 15. I have installed it onto my laptop and need to create an image that I can copy to a USB drive to send to someone that will restore the image onto another computer.
Like I said, I am used to the older version that pulled and pushed from a server. When it did this it rebooted the host computer, pulled an image from DOS and then rebotted the host back into Windows. To push it would reverse the process.
This new Ghost 15 does not reboot my computer and create an image in a DOS environment. It just runs in Windows 7 and appears to be creating a backup. It this backup a file that I can send to my partner for him to restore to a fresh computer? If so, will he need Ghost 15 to do so? Will he need to create a recovery CD to boot to in order to restore the image from the USB drive to the other computer.
Sorry if this sounds so basic, but I am worried that I am missing something since this latest version is so different from what I am used to using.
Thanks,
Rick
