Hello,
I found out I am still enrolled in the norton/intel anti theft program when I was locked out of my laptop after a bios reset. Fortunately I remembered the password. My subscription expired long ago when I uninstalled the program from my Lenovo x220 laptop. Norton is the provider of my service (I have Intel Anti-Theft Technology service provider Id: 15000) and other attempts to unenroll/deactivate with intel tools have been unsuccessful.
I see in this forum post: https://community.norton.com/en/comment/6196411#comment-6196411
That the solution is to reinstall the program, login, and deactivate the service.
Norton online and phone support has been a waste of time (the program is discontinued is what they told me, they can't give a me a trial subscription to deactivate, yet the website says they are accepting renewals until June 30, 2015........strange.) They are referring me to the forum for help.
Intel's website advises former users to deactivate immediately! https://atservice.intel.com/login.action
Any help is appreciated.
