Netgear usb printer blocked by firewall

I have a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk router with a printer connected to its USB port.  I have downloaded Control Centre.exe to share the printer across the home network.  The software can see and share the printer when the Nortons firewall is turned off and the printer continues to work when the firewall is turned back on.  However next time the computer is turned on the printer cannot be found until the Nortons firewall is turned off.  I have set Control Centre.exe to "Allow" in the firewall settings but this has not solved the problem.  Anyone have any ideas?
