Network Connectivity Check Issue

Four days ago I ran the Norton Diagnostics Report the report for my laptop Windows 10. The report shown that it couldn't confirm Internet connectivity at this time. But when I look in the network and internet settings it shows my Wi-Fi is connected and secure but my ethernet shows the ethernet cable is disconnected. So I then ran a Windows troubleshooter for network adapter problems it stated that the ethernet cable was unplugged and needed to be plugged into the network adapter.and to make sure the other end was plugged into the router.I had my laptop up in my bedroom  with Wi-Fi  connection but I also had the laptop cord plugged into a wall outlet the way I always do. So I went to router box and plugged the router cable into my laptop and it was connected to  the ethernet.but as soon as I unplug the cable it was disconnected but I had Wi-Fi connection.but connection was only 80% and all most always my Wi-Fi connection is 100%. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it ?
