Hi all,
Firstly, been using NIS 2011 and I am really pleased with it!
Secondly; my son is returning back to Uni in October time, and since I bought a 3-User licence for NIS 2011 (to save him some money buying his own Security suite) I suggested he just install NIS 2011 and then he's covered.
However, I have noticed that with NIS 2011 there is Network Secuirty Map - which is useful for my home network as I can see who is using their computer etc.
This is the question; if my son connects to the Univeristy network, if he clicks on the Network Secuirty Map, would he see a HUGE list of all the devices connected to the Univeristy Network? (I mean, there must be over a 1000 PC's connected to the network...)
Also, how could he configure NIS 2011 to prevent all devices on the network communicating with his PC? Could he go into Network Secuirty Map (before he connects his PC to the University Network), and simply change the network trust level to "Restricted"?
In my son's case, is there really any need to use the Network Security Map when he is connected to the University network?
Thanks for any advice,
J_W :)
