Network Security Map Remote Monitoring

If I want to disable Computer discovery under Remote Monitoring on the Network Security Map, and then want to re-enable it, do I get asked for a new password ?. Or do I have to use the one I used when I originally enabled it.?

Also: Is the remote monitor function just usd by Norton's map to see other computers, or does it also have an affect on gaining access to network shared conputers?  I ran into a few preoblems when first settting up my network, and one responder in the community said I neede to enable.  My network is fine now, but am trying to help someone who is having similar problems to what I had.
