I'm totally in the dark about the Network security map, what it is and its configuration. Can somebody please explain it to me and is it important to initiate it? Thank you very much.
I have turned on remote monitoring on both the XP machine and Win7 machine. However, the Win7 machine can view the Norton details on the XP machine but not vice versa.
I don't know why but setting "full protection" on both computer seem to have done the trick. After restart, I couldn't get the XP machine to see the 7 so I set full protection on both and hit "refresh". That made the XP NIS see the 7 NIS. After that I have lowered the security to protected but they still see each other. Strange.

Hi fred128,
The network security map is useful if you have a home network. It displays the devices and the details of their membership in the network. If you are a user with a single computer and are not experiencing any problems with your Norton product, and it is up to date, then I think you can ignore that feature.
Stay well and surf safe
