I think my problem started after a Windows .NET update, but I can't be sure. I can't boot my PC up fully without disabling the network. Any time the network card is enabled, it Blue Screens with a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message. The PC doctor app says every time that the cause is "Symantec Network Security WFP Driver".
The first time it blue screened the boot loader was corrupted and I had to boot from a rescue disk to fix that and run a repair on the disk drive. Everything I've read says its probably a virus, but I can't find any. I've scanned with Norton Security Suite, Spybot, MalwareBytes and PowerEraser.
Tried restoring to the last known good configuration (no change) and last restore point (failed due to file corruption related to Google Chrome). I had a Hauppauge TV card in the machine since I bought the PC, but I took it out and uninstalled the drivers and app anyway. I don't have any other hardware that isn't built in other than the AMD Radeon HD 7870 that came with the machine about 18 months ago. I updated all the drivers to the latest and greatest, including the on-board NIC. No luck. I also tried uninstalling .NET since I think that update was the change that caused my problems, but that made no difference.
Everything is fine until I enable the network card - sometimes in a couple minutes, sometimes in 15-20 minutes. Sometimes I don't get an IP address unless I do a ipconfig /renew, other times it gets an address but only after a long delay. In either case the machine will blue screen shortly afterwards. In safe mode, and on all my other machines in the house, I have no issues pulling an address. I have a Dell XPS 8500 running Windows 7 SP1. I'd appreciate any assistance.
Thanks
