Thanks again. How many 'offers' do we need to watch for this time?
Seems like it's taking more time to opt out than it does to get the product. But then maybe that's the way it's designed.
THANKS Dick for the reminder about the the check boxes. ALF60

Once burned, twice shy
not quite shy enough. Ran SAS and found that I had acquired a new batch of PUPs
Seems you just can't surf without two or three layers of protection [ever see a desktop in a condum?]
Now get that graphic out of your head quickly
thanks
I download the adobe flash player installer directly.
I use the flash player for active X link since I iuse Vista 32 bit OS
in the past the would be an active x link for 32 bit and a seperate one for 64 bit. But I do not see two seperate links now.
Anyone else notice that?
page with the link is

(I broke up the address to keep it safe
Hi Calls I just checked the adobe download site for flash player and it seems to be only available only in one type for both 32 bit and 64 bit. I did notice this morning when I downloaded from majorgeeks .com that the size of the download was about 9 mb that may be the reason for the larger download size
Flash has released a 64 bit flash player since 11.0.1.152. The installer includes BOTH the 64 & normal 32 bit versions.

Important heads up: the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (version 11.3.300.257) is causing Firefox 13 (specifically the plugin-container process) to crash. This is due to the new Protection Mode Adobe has implemented in the latest version. Information and workarounds are over here - I have deinstalled Flash Player altogether until a fixed version is released (just disabling it doesn't seem to help):

Do NOT downgrade to a previous version of Flash Player because previous versions contain security holes!
Hi Yaso_Kuuhl THANKS for the info about the plugin crash in firefox I did have this problem and noted the work around for now I will just use internet explorer till a fix is realsed.
Thanks Yaso_Kuuhl,
I did not know this, so will use Chrome until a fix is released (hopefully soon).
Dave.
thanks for the replies to my part of follow up question regarding only one windows installer link.
so if the installer contains the 32 bit and 64 bit in the same package, does it give me both? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit OS

Yes it does. To test this, launch the 64 bit and go to the flash tester page at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/.
Firefox has been updated to version 13.01 to fix the adobe flashplayer #11.3.300.257 crash bug and also for some security fixes for more details go to tools >options>advanced>update>show update history.details

I know how to enable / disable the Flash Player via Manage Add-ons. Does anyone know if one can have the flash player enabled for specific websites but not for all?
I am being plagued by Flash advertising on some websites which I could prevent by disabling the Flash Player in the IE Tools but then I found I got a message here in Norton that I had to have it to upload images ....... Can't imagine why but that's the popup I got!
I might beable to do it with my adblocker -- IE7Pro -- but that's a bit more complicated if there should be an easier way.
TIA
Hi Hugh,
Not sure with Internet Explorer, other than using ActiveX Filtering (IE9 only), but Chrome and Firefox have an extension called Adblock Plus. It is excellent for removing annoying adds.

You can do this via Manage add-ons. Under IE9:
- Open Manage add-ons.
- Select Shockwave Flash Object and click the 'More information' link in the bottom left-hand corner of the dialog box.
- In the 'More Information' window, click the 'Remove all sites' button and close the window.
You'll now be asked if you want to allow Flash to run on each site containing Flash content that you visit.
The ActiveX Filtering option that Krusty13 suggested is the less intrusive option. This assumes that you don't want Flash to run unless you specifically allow it by clicking on the content filter icon in the Address bar (blue circle with a line through it). You'll need to allow this on search sites like Google, otherwise you won't see the Site Safety icons.
Thanks both -- you give me something to play with. I dohave an adblocker that I find does most of what I need but hadn't found how to tune it for flash on a particular site.

Version 13.0.1 fixed the crashing flash player problem for me. Thanks for the notification, ALF60 :-)

Unfortunately, it did not fix the Flash crash for me. I've also seen posts elsewhere that others are still experiencing this crash in 13.0.1.
Hi killyourtv same thing here it was still crashing so I looked at the mozila support forum and found this suggestion to uncheck hardware acceration in the flash player. to do this play a flash vidieo right click select from the dropdown settings uncheck hardware acceleration
