If I was using this to assess whether or not to buy NIS2009/Norton products,It wouldn't be positive! Why post it?sorry Dieselman but I'm glad I didn't see this when I made mind up to buy Norton.as it is I like NIS2009 it has given me no trouble other than my own error or not understanding it properlly.Try before you buy would be a better post.I'm not having a go but I could not see the value in posting these results,my personal opinion and if I've missed something sorry.
What is wrong with a score of 98.69%. AV Comparatives gives Norton a 99% score. Avira is always #1. Anything above 97% is great.According to the results Norton did very well.

Now speaking for myself I did not have any background knowledge of AVs etc or who was good, great or otherwise. So If I came across this I would consider Norton not so good as I would look at position 1st then maybe look at the percentages. In my way of thinking 1-3 is better than position 4.I don't know if any others would care to share their opinions on this???As for you and others who know their way around computers etc you probably read the information differently to someone who is completely new and looking for their first AV program.
Head on over to here for more comparisons. So what your saying is that you would only buy a product cause its #1. Come on now. Coming in the top 5 is still great. So if you win a bronze medal instead of a gold are you going to be disappointed. I sure wouldn't.
Actually yeah, that's exactly what I do.ALTHOUGH..Price would be my next factor.I would then check out on the net then the real world(so I can read the box)each product.Like getting something built you get three quotes and just look at those, unless of course the price is outrageous mean I have malwarebytes as my 2nd opinion after reading the success rate on here but look where it is on the tests, that dropped my jaw!Now hopefully I'm not confusing anything,I am being educated a bit more by being on this forum to look at different things(thanks Norton)and you guys.
Another point a new user may not know the sites you do,so it is great to see your posts as you do show some stuff to think about.
Malware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware detect spyware and malware only. Not viruses. Hence the low score. If you base you decision on programs only being #1 then your missing out on what’s life is about.
I would take this test with a grain of salt. These guys at SSU are not very professional. Their Adminstrators and Moderator seem to think its ok to pass software cracks on security software to their members. Here’s a

I disagree. Sites like this hurt Software companies. Where would we be if no one paid for their software. Check out the Wilders Security Forum on this test.
I could not find the procedures. Did they allow programs such as Kaspersky, Panda, and McAfee to connect to the internet to access their database with malware information?
