Some of you may have noticed that, while writing a post, an image appears in the upper right corner of the posting page:
A new feature has been implemented called "Autosave Drafts". Here's how it works:
1) You're writing in a post, you notice that the post is "autosaved at 4:06 PM"
2) Something happens that causes that browser to be closed - you close that browser tab, power goes out, cat jumps on the keyboard - and you are no longer in the Reply Editor
3) You can retrieve that Autosaved text 2 ways:
- reply to the same post you had originally replied to. At the top of the page, you'll be given the option to LOAD or DISCARD the draft. You must reply to the same post, not just any post in the same thread. The option to LOAD or DISCARD will only appear if you reply to the same post.
- On your user profile page, a box for Autosave Drafts will appear. From this module, you can you can click one to load the draft into a reply, or delete all of your autosaved drafts.
If you click Cancel when creating a post, the Autosaved drafts for that page will be removed. Let me know if you have any questions about this new feature.
