OS 10.4.10 user:
I started getting the shut down window popping up last week and it just won't go away. Then I started noticing a bunch of bounced emails in my MAIL inbox. This morning there were over 1000 bounced emails from the weekend. I purchased Norton AntiVirus 11 first thing today and my system scanned clean [6 hour scan of 575,000 files]--not a single virus discovered.
Any idea of what to do next? Help someone...
The bounced e-mails probably weren’t sent from your system. One of your friends is probably infected with a mass mailer and it got your address from their address bug and then is using it as the return address. Unfortunately with e-mail, there’s nothing that says you have to put your own return address on the mail. By using a different e-mail address the mailer is hiding itself.
