My LiveUpdate updated the software yesterday and told me to restart. So I did.
Now, my hard drive space keeps disappearing. I noticed after I restarted yesterday that my computer was becoming monstrously slow, and just before I shut down, I noticed that I only had 38GB of hard drive space left, which was about 30GB off. There was nothing in the trash, though. I figured maybe some stuff was part of the LU update and would be removed when I booted up this morning.
This morning when I started up, something weird was going on with my hard drive space. It started at 69GB, then it went down, and then it went up again to 69GB. So I figured it was fixing itself.
Now, after a morning of web browsing and *not* downloading, I suddenly find myself with only 51GB, still nothing in the trash. I cleared my FireFox cache, but that was only 350MB to begin with.
What did LiveUpdate do to me? If I don't have an answer in the next month, I am *not* renewing my subscription.
I have an iMac (2009) with 12GB RAM, running OS 10.8.5, FireFox 36.0, Norton Antivirus 12.7 (57), LiveUpdate 6.2.4 (3). Please let me know if there's anything I've forgotten to tell you.
Please don't tell me to upgrade my software unless you're willing to pay to upgrade completely both my hardware and my software until it all works again at no cost to me. I really, really, really don't have the money to be messing with what wasn't broken.
Thank you.
