I’ve started to receive regular notifications almost every time I restart my PC that I’m connected to a new network, when I’m not. I’m running Win 11 pro with the latest patches installed.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a solution to prevent it from happening?
This seems a ‘new’ feature of latest release 25.7.xxx. There has been cases (here as well) where Windows Networking is set to Network xx PRIVATE, Norton has decided to declare it as PUBLIC, only way to get it to acknowledge that was by a restart, initially gave you an option t change back to PRIVATE but Norton would not allow that. Now I have Norton settings to actually use WINDOWS settings. You can disable this notification but only by disabling ALL notifications, not that I get any notifications anyway..

This does NOT fix the problem for me. I did LiveUpdate and it found nothing to update and restarting the system just manifests the problem again.
This has been annoying for months now; if Norton can’t fix this for me, I’ll be switching all of my PCs to another antivirus solution after ~20 years of running Norton.
@Gayathri_R
still happens. dont know if the issue is still there because: while the network detection of norton is started, the network still has the windows name “network detection” and is then changed, so you cannot even save “ignore this network” for this connection due to namechange.
