I bought a new pc with windows 7 but don't know how to get my Norton AV subscription transferred (expires March 2010). Old pc doesn't work- had windows 98 but I kept up with Norton subscription. Cannot find account id/serial # and order don't show up on my Norton account. only have my cd 2003 version and users guide. I tried to email customer service but it requires product key which I dont have.I have an old key that doesn't work or maybe it's a registration number written down, other updated ones were in old pc docs (dumb, I know now).
1. Is there anyway to get old Norton AV subscription transferred so I can get rid of mcafee new pc came with? Or do I need to buy a new product to make it work with windows 7?
2. Also I just want to confirm that I need to take off mcafee before I re-install Norton?
A friend said to try chat but don't know how that works either. So I am hoping for forum response or email. As you can tell, I am not a techie. Thanks for any help/advice!
