There's a new version of Adobe Flash Player out today -- 11.4.402.265.

 

Since Flash is one of the most commonly used paths for break-ins, it's best to keep it up-to-date.  Particularly with the all things that have been going on around here lately.

 

To avoid potential problems, it's best to first do an uninstall (in an admin account).

Click on "download the uninstaller".

Click on "uninstaller".

Close the browser.

Run the uninstaller.

Run ccleaner.

 

Download the installer file.

Uncheck "Yes install Google Chrome" before you click "Download Now"

Close the browser.

Run the installer.

Run ccleaner.

 

For the technically inclined, you can use the Flash Player Settings Manager to make it somewhat more secure.

 

Vista: Control Panel -> Security -> Flash Player.

Win 7: Control Panel -> System and Security -> Flash Player.

 

Storage tab: click Block all sites.

Camera and Mic tab: Block all sites.

Playback tab: Block all sites.

Advanced tab: either Allow Adobe or Notify Me.

 

If everyone keeps their Flash Player up-to-date Quads might get a moments rest.

Just a small note to avoid the Mcafee/Chrome checkbox issue you can go to www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html the down load is +/- 9mb in size also note that there is two versions one for IE and one for Firefox,Opera,etc Chrome has its own built in flash updater.
