Hi guys - I'm a total newbie to the forum so my sincerest apologies if I"m asking any stupid questions that have already been answered :( .. I tried searching the forum already for an answer to this but couldn't make heads or tails of it, guess I'm just naturally dense :P
A few years ago I tried using a norton ghost product - can't remember which one for the life of me - to ghost a copy of a preinstalled windows xp home edition operating system that came preinstalled on a PC I bought , I think they call it OEM ? When I tried to restore the image from ghost it didn't work.
I'm looking at ghost version 15 and I'm interested in buying it - the product description says it's compatible with windows 7 home premium , which came preinstalled on my computer... my worry is that I'll run into the same problem I did a while back with windows xp since it's sort of a similar situation, windows 7 being preinstalled on my computer and all.. on top of that to complicate issues further I think there's two partitions on the computer, a C and D partition - I know that you're supposed to be able to back up to the D partition on the computer using the software provided by the computer manufacturer but to be honest I'd feel a lot more comfortable using norton ghost which I've come to rely on as a reliable product :)
So I guess my question is - has anyone else used norton ghost version 15 successfully in a situation like this? To successfully ghost a copy of windows 7 premium with both the C and D partitions? (note that it's not windows 7 professional, apparently that's the "more expensive" version of windows that comes with more features ) ...
Thanks so much to anyone who's reading this any help would be greatly appreciated ! :)
