Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a crash caused by NF 2.6.0.61 in Google Chrome 25.0.1364.97 (stable version) on Win 7 32bit pc.
Details from Windows Event Viewer: (see Attachment)
Thanks for replies.
Hi Axios,
Do you get any error messages? If so, can you please post it here?
Do you happen to remember what you've done, then the crash happens?
Thanks,
Katie
Hi Katie,
thanks for the reply.
1) Error message was “Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error” on “C:\Program Files\Norton Family\Engine\2.6.0.61\MSVCR100.dll”
2) Error occurred when my son tried login to Gmail.
After this error, I tried again to login on Gmail site but error not occurred the second time.
Thanks for the update Axios.
Thanks,
Katie
Hi Axios,
Please check Google Chrome Browser Extensions to see if it is enabled.
How to re-enable Norton Family in Google Chrome
- Launch Google Chrome
- Navigate to “Tools” > “Extensions”
- Click the “Enable” box for Norton Family
Thanks,
Katie
It’s enabled. Even for private tabs.
Hi Axios,
Thanks for the update. Can I assume you didn't get the error message before upgrading Norton Family to 2.6.0.61?
Thanks,
Katie
Thanks for the reply.
No. NF 2.6.0.61 was installed by silent update on 22th February.
Chrome crash occured on 26-02-2013.
Thanks for the update, Axios. We will check into this.
Thanks,
Katie
Hi Axios,
When you get a chance, can you please check to see if you are still experiencing the issue.
Thanks,
Katie
Thanks for the reply.
No, the crash has not happened again.
Currently Chrome is working properly. NF is also OK.
