Hi all. My first post here.
I've been using NG since version 9 and have managed to work my way around issues using all versions since then. This time I'm stumped and looking for help.
Essentially, the SRD cannot see the network card, for which is has the drivers.
I have a new Samsung NP350V5C laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. NG15 is installed and working to back it up to my Drobo NAS. I have run a driver verification and the only drivers missing are the usual suspects: WAN Miniport (IKEv2) and Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter, neither of which are needed.
The NIC is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
Booting with the SRD, network services starts without issue. Set Network Card Speed shows a Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-e Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0). Clicking OK or Apply with Auto Negotiation or any specific speed selected gives the message "Could not determine the adapter connection status".
Configure Network Connection Settings gives the message: "Process 'Could not get network adapters' reported an error executing the requested operation."
Explore My Computer shows the 3 HD partitions, Boot (X:) and 2 x NGH15.0.1 drives (not sure why 2).
I'm not really sure what's going on but is feels like the NIC isn't being turned on by the hardware until Windows 7 boots. The USB is behaving the same way. I have a stick that lights up when plugged in and although it lights during the POST it goes out once SRD loads.
Any ideas on what to try as without network or USB, recovery if I ever need it doesn't seem like an option?
