NIS 11 - Norton Insight Freezing Win7 Requiring hard reboot

This all started with a problem that froze my machine when NIS 10 and NIS 11 go into idle mode scan.  The initial symptom was that when NIS ran Background tasks, it would freeze my machine and I could not get the system back.  I had to perform a hard reboot. 

 

I was then able to narrow down the problem to the idle running of Norton Insight.

 

I then tried running Insight manually and found the following:

If I run either of the Reputation Scans, the system finds the files and completes the ratings.

If I run the "Application Ratings" application, the system will pretty much lock up.  The only way to get out of that applicaiton is to hard reboot.

 

For now I have Norton Insight disabled to prevent system problems when I am working. 

 

Machine is a Dell Inspiron 1440 with 2.2 Ghz Pentium dual core processor.

4 GB memory
Win 7 64 bit OS.
