Download the latest version from the Symantec website and than reinstall
Stu, I have run the removal tool and it is useless. Second copy of my 3 user license has crashed with the same issues. I attempted to go back to online chat but it will not connect. I removed 2008 and installed and ran 2009 Beta on both systems. No problems yet and no issues on a full system scan. How can I upgrade to 2009 without paying for it since 2008 will not run on my vista home premium sys. This is the third crash on the second system and fourth on the first. I have spent hours online with remote assistance. Yes they are great and helpful, but this is absurd. It is easier to to to regedit and delete all symantec entries than to fight with the removal tool and the time it takes on line.
