As an IT pro for over three decades I recently purchased NIS 2009 at full retail price. It replaced another internet security product that was good in its day but went 'pear shaped' and into a loop. would never have considered norton after all the bad press and well you know it all, but my companies techo's and and internet research showed it was supposedly a new ball game and worth a try. P----, ran CCleaner, AMUST Registry Cleaner ect, O&O Defrag and bunged in the CD. Well it just did it's thing and just seemed to do it's stuff with less grief than i have ever experienced. Lots of options but the defaults just seemed set up from scratch and did it's thing. PC now much faster, and NO INFECTIONS! I run Spyware Doctor paid version, Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, Spywareblaster, and the top rated a-squared. Five weeks in and not a single infection, seamless PC performance and well one happy client. Now I don't have the in depth sw knowledge many here have but this thing just runs. Kaspersky, Bitdefender or something else may be better but this will do me for now. If 2010 is better, and I fail to see how, I'll stay a client and a 'happy camper'. I'm sure i'm about to be 'shot down in flames' but I can only report on my experience.
