Gee, Ralf, you’re absolutely right. I had IE 7 Pro on my machine and experienced the most horrible lockups and screen distortions while installing NIS2009 that I pulled it off. But that didn’t fix the problem, which was a conflict of a new NSW Premiere Edition with NIS 2009. Once I removed the problematic NSW, reinstalled NSW basic edition with NIS 2009, I had no problems; but I forgot to re-install IE 7 Pro. So now I am wondering if I experienced a 3-part conflict instead of a 2-part conflict. I will try IE 7 Pro right after this post and report back.
Ralf,
I was half-right. I had disabled IE7Pro during the NIS2009 install, but not uninstalled it; and then enabled it immediately without even noticing it (most have been the 1-in-the-am blindness). I am happy to say, that it is right here in front of my face, running so smoothly I didn't even think about it.
Btw, folks, it's one of the best freebies Microsoft has to offer; and it comes the closest to making IE7 almost the same as Firefox 3.
Hi mijcar,
thanks for testing.
But sorry, I do not understand it completely. Do you have hotkeys in IE7Pro?
Regards
Ralf
Hi the everyone.
I' m a "new" german user of NIS 2009 and NAB, so please excuse my bad english.
Yesterday I installed NIS and NAB and since then all hotkeys in IE 7 Pro are gone.
In the hotkey list e. g. "Crtl - Shift - A" is now replaced by an "+" or an "++".
Removed NIS and the hotkeys were back.
Installed again - no hotkeys.
Is this a known problem or has someone a solution?
Regards
Ralf
Ralf,
This may not be useful since I haven't created my own hotkeys before. You are right about the +'s showing up, but no list of keys. I did find that you can still define the hotkeys by
a. select the action
b. click on the "shortcut" space below.
c. start by clicking the +, then holding the shift or control or alt key that you want, then the letter, and so on. Then click "modify".
But why you can't see the definition, I can't say. I will try this on one of my machines that doesn't have NIS2009 on it to see what difference there is.
mijcar,
the hotkeys are there by default.
I have not create some on my own.
When NIS is removed, the "+" signs are changing into e. g. "Ctrl-Shift" etc.
Then I installed it again and only "+".
I hope you understand what I mean.
Thanks for helping me.
Regards
Ralf
Ralf, you are absolutely correct.
Here is what Ralf is talking about:
Before NIS2009 is installed, this is what the shortcut keys menu looks like:
After NIS 2009 is installed, this is what the shortcut keys menu looks like:
mijcar,
exactly!!
It seems as if my english is not too bad
Perhaps it will be found a solution.
Regards
Ralf
More info:
Problem definitely persists even when I do the following:
a. Uninstall IE7Pro
b. Run NSW to remove debris
c. Reinstall IE7Pro
This is a clear bug to me.
Sorry I have forgotten: Windows XP Pro SP 3.
Regards
Ralf
