Looking at the Protection Center in NSW it ALSO has Connecting toi the Internet and Transaction Security grayed out.  When I click on "Learn More" it tells me that these will be enabled if I install NIS!

I presume this si all just to be ignored for now (can someone confirm that) but it is troubling...... especially when a) I replaced a workign product for 2 that cost a combined total of over $108 and b) one of the webpages from Symantec said when I placed NIS 2009 in my basket that the complete solution for protecting my computer was combining NIS 2009 with NSW (you would think they would recommend that only after making the 2 play well together).....

Thanks!

As long as everything seems to be working fine with N.I.S. 2009, then you can Ignore what N.SW. is reporting.

If, however, you find some "bugs" with N.I.S. 2009, please Post a Post here.

I am having the same issue, and I would consider this a “BUG” in either NIS 2009 or Systemworks.  Even though NIS 2009 is running, Systemworks reports that Windows Firewall should be turned on, and when Windows Firewall is turned on, NIS reports that it should be turned off.

Yep, I agree.  2 supposedly compatible software packages by the same manufacturer that report inconsistent states and diagree no matter how you respond qualifies as a bug in my book  too.

I will hope that a Live Update fix to this will be forthcoming......

Is there a way to submit this to the Symantec development team for investigation/resolution?

Hi,

If you notify one of the symantec Employees - Names in red - then they will pass this on to the responsible Department.  :)

NSW and N360 have yet to be ugdated to reflect how NIS reports.  This will probably be fixed as the new programs are released.  You will also find this behavior between NSW2006 and NIS2008.
