Hi,
Can you please try also disabling Norton Product Tamper Protection: Settings -> Miscellaneous Settings -> Product Security -> Norton Product Tamper Protection.
Please give that a try and let us know the results. We will investigate as well.
Thank you,
/Chester
Hi,
We have identified a compatibility issue between the 2009 products and Casper. We have worked with Casper representatives to come up with the following workaround:
Please perform the following steps in Casper:
1) Click on "Explore".
2) From the "Tools" menu, select "Options"
3) On the "Advanced" tab select "File and Folder Exclusions"
4) Add the \System Volume Information\EFAData folder
5) Perform the backup
Please let me know if this resolves the issue.
Thanks,
/Chester
ChesterK- Thanks for your prompt response and investigation of this problem.
Yes, the workaround of excluding the \System Volume Information\EFAData folder does permit Casper to fully backup copy the hard drive on my XP-SP3 system.
Who will issue the permanent fix- Symantec or from Casper as a program revision?
We’re still working out the details of this fix. When an update is available, we will post information to this thread. Thanks!
I am having the same issue using Norton AntiVirus 2009 and Casper 3. When might we expect a fix from Symantec?
