NIS 2009 crashing IE 7, for the Norton staff

I will try to describe the problem I had and want to see if others experienced the same problem. A while back I installed downloaded nis 2009 trial on a computer XP Pro sp3 that acts as a server for 2 other computers connected through a router.  In other words, this computer has shares pointing to data folders and pointing to favorites.  So, the other computers when clicking on favorites will access the data stored on the 1st computer.

With nis 2009, the problem is the following.  In IE 7, you click on favorites, hover over the folders or groups, the icons associated with the links builds up, you click on any particular link and it opens the link no problem.  You click again on favorites and start hovering over the links, suddenly; the icons associated with the links are not all showing up and IE 7 freezes right there before you can click on a link.

You have to Alt Ctrl Del and it shows IE 7 as not responding, you click on TERMINATE, it then shows a second instance of IE 7 not responding, you click terminate, it takes a while as it is building a crash dump, can take up to 30 minutes and then you have the choice of clicking send error report or not. When it happens, if you decide to force power down the system, when you restart, it could take up to 30 minutes for the bottom bar to appear and then offer you to send the report or not. On top of that, when the system does that, it also freezes the first computer which has the data so therefore you have to reboot the server in order to rectify the systems.

Has anybody else experienced that?  I know my data configuration is not standard but has been in existence for many years with nis 2004 2005 2007 and Avira without any issues. I uninstalled nis 2009 and went back to 2007 so therefore I am not able to send you crash reports.  I will wait until that problem is resolved before trying to go to 2009 again.

Codydog is reporting about the same problem on another thread and you new version has not rectified his problem.  Anybody that can give me feedback would be appreciated.  Diesel, please don't give me the move up to Firefox routine.....
