I have been working with Symantec support on this issue, however they have been unable to fix. Another tech was supposed to contact me, however I haven't heard anything for days. Thought I would try posting here.
System is a Vista 64 that was running NIS2009 without issue. I'm a Firefox user and wanted to update to the latest version to get all the toolbar functionality with NIS2009. Uninstalled 2009, then tried reinstalling to get the latest patches (they would not download via Live update).
That is where the trouble begins. NIS2009 will not install now. I have tried running the cleanup tool several times in a row, manually cleaning the registry, running ccleaner, and manually deleting all files and directories. Several tech support folks have also taken control of my PC remotely and tried the same. No one is able to get any Norton product now to install.
I've read through the forums and it seems the only fix is to run the removal tool and reinstall. I have done this countless times.
Any other advice?
Thank you,
