NIS 2009 - list of virus definitions

Does anyone know how to get a list of virus definitions that NIS 2009 currently protects against?  For example, there has been a lot of talk about the Conficker worm recently and I have run Symantec's tool to test whether the worm is on my computer (it says it could not find the worm so hopefully that's ok).  However, it would be useful to see a complete listr of all the viruses that I am protected against to confirm that the conficker worm is actually included in the list.  I'm sure there must be an easy way to display the list, but I can't seem to find out how to do it.  Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Geoff

If you look at the top of the message board, under "Viruses and Risks, and click on "Threat Explorer, it will take you to the lists. It makes for lengthy reading.

Thanks for the reply.  I was hoping that there would be a way whereby I could get a positive list of virus definitions that I am protected against by NIS 2009 that is actually installed on my computer.  The Threat Explorer you refer to is a central list that we hope has been downloaded during live updates (but does not positively confirm that they have) - if you see what I mean.

Symantec removed that from 2009 because of the sheer number of threats. It just took up space on the computer.  Most people never read it.

Hi, n2009user27,

All the Threats Listed on the Threat Explorer are the Threats that Norton Products Protect Against, including some Signatures which Detect Files that have been Modified and/or Protected by Hackers, if they were actually Installed on your computer.

Hi Geoff,

Kindly check the information provided in the below links:

All these will be updated to your Norton program via LiveUpdate and together it will help to protect your computer from the threats.
