I keep getting a red X on the NIS 2009 icon in the tray telling me I'm "at risk". I try "FIX NOW" and it looks for updates, says updates completed but when I click OK I get "protection updates not fixed". also get message my antivirus defs are out of date. However my last update listed in the NIS window may show last virus update just min ago.
I have installed the NIS 2009 update and problem solved for short period before returning. Did full uninstall with Norton uninstall tool and reinstalled NIS 2009. Problem resolved for a short while only to return. Odd thing is this only happens onmy lap top. PC has not had this problem.
Any ideas what is going on here and how to fix it?
