My mistake [I think].

Thanks

I recently scan my infected PC using NIS 2009 and I found out that Norton missed the Antivirus XP 2008 infections [deleted some processes related to AV XP 2008]. I give credits to Norton because it eradicated all of the malware infections I got inside my hard drive :smileyvery-happy:  .

I used HiJackThis program to see what Norton had missed after the full scan completed. Here is the log:

O16 - DPF: {2F0E7094-51A2-ECEB-8CF6-EF32B5ECD15E}

O16 - DPF: {7D5DD829-6C90-42C5-B54C-2AFA82F988BA} (CLoader Object)
O16 - DPF: {C931FDF3-0319-0CAE-6DFD-8D061EABF08D}

*Sorry, I had to delete the malware link due to the security risks [for others who accidently click the links]

What are these infections:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wofgrqls] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wofgrqls.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [apadibub] regsvr32 /u “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\apadibub.dll”
O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [rTwrdHqj21] C:\WINDOWS\wpopejyl.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [J286hthVnp] C:\WINDOWS\wpopejyl.exe

AntivirusXP2008 is a malware which has many copies and signatures. And there are daily new versions. Please send all the samples you can find and send them all to Symantec

To anyone who works here…

Hi diddo09,

Were you infected before you installed NIS2009? You may want to boot your system into Safe Mode and run a Full System Scan to see if it is found. If it still is not removed, I would recommend that you follow the steps listed in the How To Troubleshoot a Suspected Malware Infection announcement.

If that still doesn't help, I would recommend sending the file to our Malware Submission Website

Thanks!

No AV is perfect. XP Antivirus is more malware then anything. Best to use SuperAntiSpyware and Malware Bytes Anti Malware.
