I'm thinking there will probably be a "No" answer to my question, but I will try anyway.  

 

I have turned off e-mail scanning in NIS 2009.  It's just not necessary since my ISP checks incoming mail, with Norton I believe, and I never use outgoing e-mail scanners.  I'm also using SSL for my e-mail.

 

Is there any way to stop the red exclamation point in the taskbar icon from appearing.  It just bugs me to see this red thing starring at me.

Real simple.

 

Turn off the email scanning in the main console, then click on the circled i on the right of that line.  You will get a drop-down menu giving you the "ignore" option.  Click on "ignore" and you're all set.

Thanks mijcar.  I was looking in Settings.  I should have looked a little closer in the main console.
