I know this has been dealt with on other threads, but my system configuration is different from the others I've seen.
I'm running XP SP3, but have not installed any further file managers (such as PowerDesk etc.). However, I have the same problem as other people have reported, in that right-clicking a file in an Explorer window, in order to perform a quick scan, causes Explorer to freeze. I have to end the program via the Task Manager and start again from scratch. When I return to the window where the problem occurred, I can usually scan the file via a right-click, as normal.
This is a seemingly random issue, affecting about one-third of my right clicks, and has only occurred since the installation of NIS 2009. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, of course, and run any NIS updates I can find, but without success. Norton tried to help, but given the random nature of the problem, their live support session proved inconclusive.
As I say, the only solutions I've seen seem to refer to Explorer+, PowerDesk or Vista.
Any help welcome!
