I actually always use Revo Uninstaller in Advanced mode. It has never let me down once.

On a routine basis I prefer to stick to the uninstall routine that uses data written by the source of the application -- ie the uninstall file of the application or Windows Remove Programs which merely calls that.
I don't argue against specialized utilities but I've never had the need of them and if you always use them then you don't know whether the "normal routine" works satisfactorily or not <s>
Well take it from years of experince. I never get BSOD’s. I never ger errors with any software. I do not have any issues what so ever with NIS 2009. I have tried hundreds upon hundreds of different software. If I do not like it Revo it. Its gone completely. I have used Avira,NOD32,KAV,Avast,AVG for virus scanners. I have used Zone Alarm Pro,Comodo,Online Armor,PC Tools and Outppst for firewalls. I have also used and tried Anto Bot and Mamutu. All I uninstalled using Revo uninstaller and all traces gone. My pc is 100% error free. My last set up before NIS 2009 was Avira Premium, Comodo Firewall Pro and Sandboxie. I used Revo in Advanced mode on all of them and afterwards checked for left over traces with CCleaner and TuneUp Utilities. After uninstalling 3 security programs with Revo I had about 3 files and folders left over. I would have to say thats a pretty good bleep job. When I installed NIS 2009 the Windows Security Center showed no av or no firewall. My pc was 100% clean and clear of any left over security products. This maybe hwy I have no issues what so ever with NIS 2009.
Norton leaves a lot of information in the various Documents and Settings Folders. You might want to do a search for Norton and for Symantec there, making sure your view allows you to see hidden and system files. Be careful about deleting these because they save settings and perhaps your activation key as well as history.
