NIS 2009 won't work after install

This post is for a different computer than my other post (for those who have been helping me on another problem).

 

I am running XP, SP2 on another computer and just noticed yesterday that my identity safe wasn't working.  Upon further examination, I found that NIS wasn't working at all.  In fact, the icon doesn't even show up in the running services toolbar.  When I started the program from the Start menu, I had to wait for about 5 minutes with no activity on the screen before One Click Support came up.  It then said my program wasn't working, to uninstall and reinstall it.

 

I used the removal tool twice in a row, and then reinstalled the latest download of NIS 2009.  It appeared to complete the installation, although the final 10 seconds took about 3 minutes to complete, which has never happened before.  When I tried to start the program, the same thing happened.  About a 5 minute wait, and then the One Click Support screen came up.  I re-ran the removal tool and reinstalled about 5 times last night with the same result each time.

 

The program was working just fine last week.  It just stopped for some reason.
