Hi everyone,
today, after a week of non use, I have connected my Vista Sp1 32bit pc to Internet and NIS 2010 Network map doesn’t list any device. NIS event log show all normal connection related entries: protected network, etc. Only Network map is empty.
I tried to disconnect, clear network map from NIS settings menu and than reconnect: network map is still empty.
One Click support doesn’t find anything. NIS seem ok. NPE doesn’t find anything and I have already executed an sfc /scannow.
I would upgrate to NIS 2011 but I don’t think is a good idea to proceed until NIS 2010 is perfectly ok.
Thanks in advance for replies.
No network name showed.
Yes, I refreshed after any attempt I made.
And also: I didn’t made any change to anything. Just turned on pc and connected as usually.
If it says "Trust Control" on the dropdown box, see if you can click it and select the name of your network or "Local Network."
No other entries except “trust control”. I also restarted my router but doesn’t change anything.

Hi Axios,
It is pretty easy to rebuild the Network Security Map if you purge the map and then re-establish the network as follows:
First disconnect all peripheral PCs and other devices from the network. Then, in the Norton Network Map window make sure that you turn off Remote Monitoring (Computer Discovery), since the next step will fail if this is not disabled. Now go to the Norton Settings and, under the "Manage Network" tab, click the option to Purge the network map.
Now reconstruct your network: Open the Network Map but do not make any entries. Reconnect your PCs to the network. As you do so, each one should appear in the network map. This should reacquaint Norton with your network.
Refer this KB to configure Network Security Map
I tried both method. Nothing happened.
Unexpectely after the third reboot network map returned to work perfectly.
Thanks for the help. I will upgrade to NIS 2011 as soon as possible now that 2010 is ok.
