NIS 2010 comptability with a-2 squared

Good evening.

Can some one tell me if there are a problem of comptability from NIS 2010 with A2-squared , i have a full license of a-2squared but i don´t now if the two software can´t run at the same time.

(Sorry for my poor english...)

Hi zemoura, welcome to the Norton Community :-)

I am not familiar with A2-squared; if the program has got realtime protection, then it is very strongly recommended that you do not run it together with NIS 2010, which has obviously got realtime protection. Running two realtime security programs can cause conflicts on your machine and interfere with threat detection and defense. If your A2-squared version does not include realtime protection (if it is an on-demand scanner), then you should be able to use it alongside NIS 2010 without problems.

Thank you for the info

the a-2 squared has relal time protection, i will not use them.

When i shut down XP, is takes many time; i use previously Kaspersky, then i bought NIS, with kasperhy shut down was faster, can i do anything?

Is the overall performance of your computer slow, or is only the shutdown process slower than with Kaspersky? Did you also run the Kaspersky removal tool when you removed Kaspersky?

The performance is normal, only shut down is slower.....

When i´ve unnistalled kaspersky i don´t use the removal tool, use only the removal option of the KIS

I don’t think this should be something to worry about if your computer has not become sluggish since the installation of NIS 2010 and if only shutting down takes a little longer, and if you are not receiving any error notifications or program crashes during shutdown. Booting-up time is normal, I assume?

Yes booting time is normal, only shut down; it´s just a doubt, tha computer continuous to work fine, and i´m enjoying the experience with NIS 2010, very easy to use.

My own computer takes a little longer to shut down with NIS 2010 after I upgraded from NIS 2007 (from a clean install), but it has never worried me. If the shutdown process is not abnormally long and if your computer is running smoothly otherwise, and NIS 2010 full scans are clean, then it should be okay.
