NIS 2010 deoptimized for AMD Athlon 2800+?

I noticed within the last few weeks, NIS 2010 started to have all of our machines that are running XP SP3 with AMD Athlon 2800+ CPUs slow down so as to appear to be akin to that of an 600-800 MHz P3.  I've not noticed this issue with those that are currently running a Core Duo CPU.  We scan nightly & the fragmentation is nil.

 

Simply put, are the optimizations that the scanner uses no longer compiled with support for earlier processors?

how much memory do you have in those PCs?

And did you installed any new software, or any update on those machines?
