Is anyone else finding that NIS2010 is disabling Windows Defender. Had no problem with 2010 betas, just started since installed the release version. I have always run NIS and Windows Defender together with no problems
Hi PSteinberger
NIS has its own Firewall and other programs to block/find spyware and other unwanted programs
If there are 2 software's (Windows Defender& NIS) for the same purpose, there can be a conflict
So NIS is designed in such a way that : It turns OFF Windows defender after Install & turns it back to its original state (ON) when you uninstall NIS
Hope this info helps you
Thanks
Kavitha
I have always been able to run both. NIS would disable Windows Defender on install, then on next boot I would enable it and it would then stay enabled.
You are probably able to start WD manually. It still is useless because NIS is doing the same thing as WD and even better
