The last time I was here was a year ago when you all gave me some excellent help in upgrading from NIS 2005 to 2009.
I have had to re-register as the Community Forum doesn't like any of my previous sign in names (x2 difficulties even then) notwithstanding having just confirmed them to me by email a few minutes ago!!
It's been an excellent upgrade from NIS 2005 to 2009, and a problem free year.
Nonetheless, it's that time of year - renewal, and an upgrade to NIS 2010 is needed. No problems there now!!
However, the last post a year ago was from Guru SendofJive who tossed in the parting shot, “Just FYI, you can buy a disc but install from a download of the most recent version, using the activation key that comes with the boxed program. The best of both worlds.”
This indicates you can download the latest version of NIS direct to avoid the problems of waiting for updates (which happens when you load NIS from the disc you have purchased). The 'User Guide' also suggests to be to be true at page 10, paragraph 1 part 2.
So, yes you have guessed it, my question to you experts is the unexplained bit ... how do you do that? I have looked, but can’t find the answer easily. If you are not using the disc where do you go to find/download NIS 2010 on the Norton website and enter your disc purchased product key to activate NIS 2010 without being asked to pay again?
Clearly, the answer is so obvious it is not necessary to be explained, except to me!! Looking forward to you replies.
