Hello!
I just want ask few simple questions.
But first i want to thanks that Symantec has created great security software. I used NIS 2004-2006 before, but jumped to Kaspersky Internet Security because i noticed that NIS i quite “heavy” program (and poor detection). I was happy KIS user until KIS 2010 came out. It was causing me lot of problems so i start to think other options.
So i take a risk and tested NIS again…And what i get? A great software which is very easy to use and extreme light.
And i have a questions:
1. This i not a real problem. I just wonder that was it causing this:
I use Vista Ultimate x64 and i have disabled Windows Firewall and with Kaspersky i never noticed anything “weard”, but when i installed NIS i noticed that one dllhost.exe started running in background.
That dllhost.exe contains Windows Firewall API (firewallapi.dll) and HNetCfg.FwMgr.
I just want know why this dllhost.exe is trying to execute after i installed NIS. Why i never noticed that with KIS?
2. Is there coming any critical fix or something about that application rating. I just can’t understand that why NIS allow unrated program execution. I want know everytime when some unrated programs is starting.
There should option in setting, example “Unrated object” and choices “Allow/Ask/Deny”. So when firewall is in automatic mode NIS decide program setting automatically but when NIS detect unrated object it ask from user that “what i should do”. Now NIS just allow program execution and that is not good thing at all.
Sorry for my bad english.
