When I try to install NIS 2010 from the CD, I get an install screen for "Exceed ® 2006-Hummingbird Setup." The CD works on other computers. This computer was badly infected with XP Security Tool and possibly more. I used Malwarebyte's Anti-malware and Hijackthis and a lot of patience to remove the worst of it. The computer is OK now except:
- WiFi network list shows access points that don't exist and doesn't show any real ones.
- Double clicking on C: drive icon gets error "Windows Script Host: Cannot find script file "C:\winrun.vbs"" have to type "C:" to display drive contents.
- Can't install NIS 2010 as descibed above. Using AVG temporarily so I have some protection.
Anyone heard of that Hummingbird message when installing Norton? Maybe that's a clue about what I'm infected with and how to fix it.
