Hi folks,just want to know if anyone experiences very slow start-up time for their vista sidebar and who also have NIS 2010 installed.
I am pretty sure that NIS2010 is causing this as when i was using Kaspersky security trial i did not have this issue and after reinstalling NIS2010 it returned.
Also the sidebar will start up normally if i disable norton auto-protect and re-boot.
This also interferes with the ordering of the gadgets on the sidebar as the longer the start-up time the more random the gadgets are on the sidebar (ie my ordering of them is forgotten by windows).
Every other aspect of the windows boot-up goes ok-i can get from cold boot to desktop in 45 secs and can start any program but it just takes 2 mins or more sometimes for the sidebar to start.
Again i stress that this problem goes away with NIS switched off or uninstalled so please don't point me in any other direction than NIS being the cause.
I am running vista 64 SP2 fully updated and the sidebar gadgets i use are the ones that came preinstalled with Vista so no 3rd party gadget is causing this issue-also it does not matter what gadget i use the issue remains with NIS.
