System running Win XP SP3.
I upgraded from NIS 2009 to 2010 and found the following issue. I start a full system scan and minimize the NIS windows to the toolbar. I then logoff my account leaving NIS running. When I come back to it a couple of hours later and try to logon, the system took several minutes to get back to the desktop.
I clicked the taskbar button to maximize NIS and after a couple of minutes it appeared, taking many seconds to fully appear on screen. The scan was still on the C: drive so I click stop scan, it says are you sure and I say yes. After waiting and waiting I finally have to hit reset to reboot.
This happened whether or not I said to run at low priority when I minimized the scan window. I have uninstalled NIS 2010 and reinstalled NIS 2009. When I do a full system scan with 2009 I follow the same procedures as listed above and do not experience the system slowdown / freeze that 2010 causes. I should say that I did use the Norton removal tool before installing 2010 and did a clean install.
Any ideas what has changed between NIS 2009 and 2010 that would account for this behavior?
