I installed Norton Internet Security 2010 on 3 computers, one a Windows 7 system, and the other two of which are XP systems and on those two XP systems, I can no longer Copy, Rename, or Move files. I've lost control over my file manager abilites. HELP!
Both XP systems, one a laptop running an AMD chip, and the other a Dell Desktop running an Intel P4 3.0 Ghz. chip, both with plenty of RAM.
When I highlight a file and then Right Click to try and copy or rename a file or folder, the window locks up with an hourglass, then after awhile, I'm asked if I wish to send a report or not to Microsoft.
I have attempted to access the Copy command from the EDIT menu, and the same thing. Also tried the keyboard command (Control + C) and get the same thing. My file manager window locks up, and after 2 or 3 unsuccessful attempts to Copy or Rename a file or folder, my system freezes.
On the desktop, I turned off all services from MSCONFIG, but that did not fix anything.
Fortunately, my Desktop has Ghost on it, and I have restored it to its previous state without Norton Internet Security 2010, but I want to have NIS 2010 running to safeguard the system.
What is going on? Any help, please? Both XP systems, one a laptop and the other a desktop, have the same problem.
