Hi all,
I recently purchased NIS 2010 and I'm loving it so far. I can't get over how low on resource usage this is compared to the pre-2009 versions. Previously I was using Online Armor firewall together with Avast anti-virus. I have a question regarding two features that I used extensively in OA and i was wondering if these are available in NIS. I looked over all the options and can't see anything like this.
First off, I realise you can password protect settings in NIS, but is there a way to password protect the NIS window itself? I mean, say when opening Norton Security from the system tray icon, is there a way to prevent other users from accessing the main window that opens unless they enter a password? In OA, there was an option to lock the GUI so that unauthorized users couldn't access the main window in order to view settings as well as alter them.
Second, I was curious whether there is a way to block applications from being installed? OA had a feature called "Program Guard" which would ask users to accept or disallow any program installations. If OA was password protected then no installation files (or .exe) files could be run unless it was specifically authorized previously in the firewall settings?
Any input would be geratly appreciated
Thanks :)
