I run NIS 2010 on XP service pack 3 with 4 giga byte Ram on a Toshiba Satelite pro
Since two weeks Symantec Service Framework draws more then 2 gigabyte ram by way of ccsvchst.exe
Sometimes I can get rid of the problem for an hour with a registry cleaner and reboot
By way of process explorer and process monitor procmon.exe I find that the computer is I/O for 2 giga and
according to procmon these are succesfull performance.db reads .
The db file is now 2.49 giga
C:/documents and settings/ all users/application data/Norton/(0C55C................) NIS 17.0.0.136 /NCW/performance.db
In the Norton Protected recycle bin I find 1500 deleted db files all between 4 and 7 kb and when I empty the bin it starts immidiately
to refill with new db deletes .
The 2 giga ram cycles down and up and the imput output indicator on process monitor is like 80%
The system crawls on between reboots
Any suggestions are welcom
