NIS 2010 trial version came with Sony laptop with windows 7 home premium. At end of trial, activated with key from store-purchased product. Updated to current patch. From the very beginning, this NIS has the “habit” of “dialing” to my Norton account without my intending to do so. At first, I thought I might have inadvertently hit the bottom left icon of the NIS window. But I have paid attention and carefully avoided that icon. So, why does NIS give me a splash screen showing its attempt to connect to my Norton account without my consent or intent? Is it a setting or registry entry I may not be aware of? I’ve never ever tried to connect to my account from any of my machines since I started using NIS 2009. And only this machine has tried to do so on its own.
