NIS 2010 - Why do we have read-only General Rules?

This is a follow-up to my post about Filesharing issues here:

I wanted to post a new topic because this is more of a general question and not related specifically to the problem

in the linked topic.

That said, why do we have read-only General rules? I understand the necessitiy of NIS having the General rules

and I think it's good that there are some default rules provided. What I am disappointed about however is that I

do not have full control over the NIS product.

With the ability to undo changes using the Firewall Reset option, I feel that having rules that I'm locked out of is a

little unnecessary. As a professional in the IT business, I have confidence that I am capable of managing my system

properly.

I would request that an option be added that would allow those of us who wish to unlock the read-only rules so they

may be edited. Those that don't feel comfortable can leave them read-only. The firewall reset option provides a

suitable means of undoing any changes should a user feel they went overboard.
