NIS 2011 18.6.0.29 Daily Norton Error Telemetry

What ever AVPAPP32 is .It's logged as an error every morning when I turn my Computer on, It shows Low as an incidence rating and googling it doen't tell me much. Everything seems to be working o.k so I'm not going to worry about it, anybody else? Thanks....Gorpy1

Good attitude ... <s>

It is a Symantec file so I'm sure someone will know more about it.

Hello

I've been getting the same error, I think even before the latest patch.

Hi floplot, My error messages (i got 2 on the same subject AVPAPP32 yesterday morning) began with NIS 2011 18.6.0.29, Thanks, Gorpy1

Hello Gorphy1

I checked again last night and saw that it started when I got the new patch back on May 2nd.. Thanks.

No floplot..Thanks to you, It says it's of a low importance or incedence so I'm not going to worry to much about it. I hope Norton fixes it if needed.........Thanks, Gorpy1

Where/how are you seeing this error? If it's in the Norton Error Reporting section of your Norton product's security history, can you right-click the entry and copy it to the clipboard and then paste it back into your response?

Hi reese It's in Norton Error Reporting Submission with the the dates from way back in May, It say no action is available for this item and it's been submitted, and it's priority is Low, My mouse won"t do anything on the error subnission page, Other's report having it too and it hasn't effected the application in any way I can see., I just mentioned it for information use.that's all...Thanks, Gorpy1

Gorpy1, you should be able to left-click over the specific entry and then right-click over it and see a menu with 'Copy' and 'Copy All'. Choose Copy to get the data onto the clipboard. If that doesn't work, after selecting the item click on the More Details button and then provide the value that is in the Error ID field.

reese is this what you want...Gorpy1 It should be AVPAPP32 and floplot a "GURU" say he's been getting this error message for a while, I hate to ask, but maybe he can help, if he wants to, Thanks, Gorpy1

Hello

I'm getting the same error and it looks to be the same as Gorphy posted. Btw, I'm a she., lol. I think the first time was on May 2nd when I received the latest patch..

Hi floplot, sorry for the mistake, reese recieved my error information and this morning I didn't get the error. I've also noticed new (or additionial) firewall rules for Internet Explorer (I use IE8) last night, so I'm sure all is well, Thanks for the help and I wanted to Thank reese for replying (I'm going to give it a day or two before marking this post as solved, though I still believe it's of no big deal)..........Gorpy1

Gorpy1, thanks for the information, it is exactly what I wanted. This particular event is actually a false positive. The code is working fine and is incorrectly reporting an issue when there really isn't one. The 2012 products have been 'fixed' so as not to report this condition anymore.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
