Even as running as with Computer Administrative priveleges many of the lights were dark except for 3 (which were still bright) on the Advanced interface as well were the configure words (no acess to program control) you can still see the word though it is darken'ed,,,,,,,,This was 3/21/2011 in the afternoon C.S.T.....Is this normal, I'll see if it happens again today Otherwise SECURE was bright.....Thanks, Gorpy1
If you mean grayed out, restart the pc and it will be bright and normal again

Thanks DarkSta........Is this the way it's suppose to be or a bug, ......Gorpy1
It's not the way it's supposed to be, but several users have reported it and Symantec is aware of it.
It’s not supposed to be this way, but this bug is easily fixed (I recommend restarting as soon as the glitch is spotted because I have no idea whether those features are working or not since they are grayed out).

You mean to tell me I need to Reboot just to make sure the features are working? I hope that's not the case or this update should have never been released..........I'll check this p.m to see if it still happens.....Thanks, Gorpy1
What I mean is that since it’s grayed out, I’m not sure whether those features is working properly or not or whether the glitch is just cosmetic. I would just reboot to be sure. Also, after rebooting, the features are no longer grayed out,
In summary, not suppose to happen but it happens. Fix for those features to no longer be grayed out: reboot pc.

Thanks Bombastus If Symnatec is aware of it. Do you know if the features are still working, I find it hard to believe they expect people to reboot whenever this happens, If it says SECURE I'm going to trust it...and see if it's still a problem later today........Thanks again.......Gorpy1
You could perhaps do an eicar test while the features are grayed out to test whether they are working. A malware test would be nice also cause I really want to know whether the features are disabled and thus grayed out,

Thanks Darksta........I hear ya , I'm having a problem even getting Live Update to work......or we both could, Thanks.......Gorpy1
What I mean is that could you run the eicar virus test file while it is grayed out to see if Norton catches it. If it doesn’t the feature is not working properly.
When it happened to me, I purposefully browsed to a certain website and IPS (IPS was one of the ones grayed out) blocked the attack. Others should use the harmless EICAR file instead if they want to be sure.
Hello GORPY1, can you do export of your recent error reporting submissions in history? I can check to see if this is already an issue that has been reported to us or not. Thanks.
Micahell,
You may need to give Gorpy step by step instructions on how to do this "export" ... I would have had to ask had it been me <s>

I will post instruction latter, most likely latter tonight.
Sorry to be a grammar but I believe the correct word is later not latter .

That's nothing to do with grammar ... it's spelling ... aka a typo <g>
I believe they call whoever is nit picking over spelling and grammar mistakes a grammar nazi. Never heard of a spelling nazi.

Yes my wife keeps correcting me about that and I keep forgetting that later only has one t not two. Old habits die hard.
